DISCLAIMER: First i need to say this post certainly does not intend to offend any of our lady members.....
That said this fruit was simply in a league of its own! Absolutely staggering color, beautiful "shoulders", gorgeous shape, nice belly button, tall. This thing reminded me of my college days. I could not stop staring at this BEAUTY. It looked like someone poured blaze orange plastic on the skin. Not a single sign of any canteloping / stretch marks / ANYTHING! That's why it's like a hot chick! NO OFFENCE LADIES! Lol...
Seriously Joe Ailts I was fortunate to be able to be the "official" taper of the 2 Poirier fruit yesterday (because we had no fruit!). Both broke the current state record...at the time. I believe we taped them at 399 and 411 so sure they both went light. Both were still amazing...they even were plenty to intimidate some of the better growers! I can't imagine another fruit this size EVER grown to be this beautiful! Of course that's my humble opinion.
Unfortunately I had to leave before officially meeting George and Rebecca. Let me just say congrats. What a season. 4 fruit over 1200 off 4 plants! Simply amazing! Congrats and good luck the rest of the way. YOU are officially the new "blip" on the WI radar...ha ha.
If anyone wants to see the 1290 look in AGpumpkinhead's diary. Beautiful.
Best wishes.

I have to agree with Chris. It was an honor and a pleasure to be able to tape this fruit. I see no reason why this fruit couldnt be #1 contender for the largest, prettiest pumpkin this year.

Thanks for complements on the 1290 Poirier and the recognition on our 2007 results (luck and hard work).
Chris, Becky and I were sorry to miss you at Nekoosa yesterday. I asked if you were there and was told that I just missed you. We sure had a great time. If the wins were not enough today I was asked to judge the pumpkin deserts!
I had been referring to the 1290 Poirier as the Cindy Crawford due to her clear complexion, small beauty mark, and her aging well. The Nekoosa crowd sure liked her. We had several folks ask us "Is that real?", "What kind of paint did you use on it?"
We will post many more pics tomorrow on our diary. Thanks all for sharing your knowledge, advice. The internet is sure a powerful tool for sharing information.

I think I may have a picture of me taping the supermodel. I'm glad no one has taken this out of context yet :)

The 1290 was sure a beauty to see, the crowd favorite. As my wife Denise and I were driving in to unload our pumpkins we spotted the 1290 from a distance, and were amazed with how big, tall, and ORANGE it was. Congratulations, Becky, on an amazing pumpkin. Randy Glisczinski.

yep i must also say I was there to see it, I am very impressed with these two pumpkins, I say the 1290 was hands down no. 1 for size and color. congrats george and rebecca, I also got to meet george, very nice guy, unfortunatly had to leave too soon, kid was crying it was like 90 degrees. These guys are making it harder on us rookies to beat them, well thats the name of the game. congrats to all. Scott Burish
