Eddy, congrats on breaking the 1000 lb mark.
For a guy that was not going to grow this year....that is outstanding.

I was at the Smoky Lake weigh-off. Eddy did a great job, and the smile on his face made the drive worth-while.
Also, congrats to Alan Makarchuk (saxamophone) who won for largest squash, and t Don Crews, who's pumpkin was the only once that could be the ice-man.
That weigh-off was amazing.... thousands of people in attendance.

Great job Eddy. Had I known that taking the year off would produce a thousand pounder I'd have tried it myself!
Congratulations!

Thanks everybody. And yes it was only to be some of our own seeds and expected nothing much, wanted to make a couple crosses. Anyway our 2 best were on our 522 Z and the 792 Z Jenn's 792 went 917, but was DQed for a pinhole, and my 522 just did not quit growing, it consistently gained weight, even on the cold and dreery days, It was still gaining when we cut it, and it was 8-10 percent heavy and also took the howard dill award. It was our greatest day as pumpkin growers Eddy

Glenn, sorry buddy but please check my diary, actually I need to thank the Wiz, because he was talking smack, and I challenged him. He owes me a barley pop at Niagara. Actually Glenn, I'm not worthy of playing in your sandbox Eddy

Hey Eddy, great job. I look forward to growing the 522 next year. Oh yeah, I love the tatoo! Let's not forget Don Crews who keeps pushing the Alberta record up and up. 1138 pounds. For our climate, he's just amazing! Alan
