No one deserved to grow a 1500 pounder than Pete Glasier! Congrats on your 1535.5 and your win at Elk Grove. And they thought we couldn't grow 'em big here in California!

What a Great day! Congratulations again Pete. :D Wow! What a bunch of Super people to spend the day hanging out with. Thanks Sue, Eric, Lee, Jose, Leonardo. Another newbie like me, Walter- and all those I met but forgot your names-Ben from Arizona. :) I'd sit all day in the sun again just to be there you all. Awesome crowd and nice work the city of Elk Grove did putting on the Event. It was fun and I think I might have even learn something. :) Lol- the MC Annoucer just about drowned in the floatilla Regatta, I don't think he got out of the starting gate before sank! I'll Post some of the Pics of it all in my Diary- :D Way to Go Pete!

1082 Martin (1420x1446) cross (or maybe the reverse). Looks like this cross is the new gold standard.

Pete grew his monster on the 1092 Martin 06 which is a cross between the 1068 Wallace and Pete's own 992.5 Glasier. Pete has an affinity for his own pumpkin children... they're not the prettiest pumpkins on the planet but they're big and heavy. This one was huge!
Congratulations to the the New California State record holder and now also top gun on the West Coast!!!

I was there in the front row when the weight was announced. Everybody went wild. The state record was 1280.5. He blew past 1,300, then 1,400 to land at 1,535.5! Pete is everybody's favorite grower in California. It couldn't have happened to a nicer person.
What will Pete and Cindi Glasier bring to the next 4 weigh offs?

Wow!!! I am on cloud nine and probably won't come down for a while!! Thanks for all the congratulations! I have finally realized a 25 year goal of growing a truly big pumpkin. Along the way I have made so many great friendships and so many doors have been opened you would not believe it. I want to thank all my Napa grower friends. We truly have a great group and help each out in so many ways by providing wanted pollen and helping out at loading time and by lending a shoulder to cry on when a big one goes down and the list never ends. I am very happy that I grew my big one on a California seed the 1092 Martin which is the 1068 Wallace crossed with the 992.5 Glasier. There is nothing like this hobby in terms of highs and lows. I have experienced many lows and now am on the highest of highs. I am fired up and energized for next year. I learn something new every year and am already looking forward to next year!!! California growers are going to come out next year with all guns blazing!!! Once again thanks to everyone involved in this greatest hobby/sport in the world. Pete
