I'm not sure how stupid this question is but, does writing on a seed's coat damage it or hurt it in anyway or does it not matter? Just wondering if you can write on seeds for keeping track.

Yup, done alot, even wise as you get the seeds so in case the seed pak opens up you still know what it is. Not a stupid question at all.

It could be costly if you don't, what if you have 2 different seeds together with no writing on them.

I always write the weight on my seeds with s Sharpie Fine Point. No harm comes to them at all.
