Well... this summer heat in October might be good for keeping heating bills in abeyance, but it has not been good for my patch. Last night as we were loading my second largest, we discovered a fist size soft spot in the bottom. It was amazing how warm the gooey spot was.
We cut the pumpkin up into chunks and put them on a small scales. It was slightly over 1200.
Devastating is the word of the day.. All that work.. and now my two personal best have bit the dust...
I have a couple left for pumpkinville, but this really stinks! I hope your entries are doing well in this heat!
Oh well.. c'est la vie!

Thanks all! You betcha I'll be growing next year. I have contracted the disease of pumpkin growing!!! Yes.. the soft spot went all the way through!!
