My Dad seen the Lord of the Gourds on TV and told me that Craig had a pumpkin go real light on him, he said the expression on Craig's face said it all on how unbelievable light it went. What pumpkin was this and what was it grown off of?

Yes, the look on his face was enough to turn me off to weighoffs. I felt very bad for him but in the end its just pumpkins.

hey its all in the past why are we even talking about it?
it was difficult for craig to witness ( a good guy and fellow upstate new yorker ) and i felt badly for him.
sometimes in life we all eat a little crow. next year it might be someone else.
im sure he would rather not see it discussed again
thanks

Agree with Brooks, Pap, no ill will intended, apologies to Craig if taken that way. More curious what went light, and how you grow something twice as big as I ever have regardless.

Maybe ultrasound would work.

Regular ultrasoud won't work- I've tried. The sound waves won't penetrate the skin. I do plan, however, to talk to some u/s gurus about modifying it. The problem is that if the energy is cranked up to get sound waves to penetrate, the heat produced also goes up...the result is cooked pumpkin......

Ultra sound could work. It just takes time and money. I played around with it years ago when I was in the industrial testing field- for 15 years. You need the right transducer and some calibration pumpkin pieces. The sound waves would never cook the pumpkin. The screen is tough to read. It just needs to be calibrated for different thickness. X-ray would work. I would of loved a job way back when to x-ray pumpkins

George- I have access to medical ultrasound equipment and always thought I'd like to see if I could develope a portable u/s to take into the field, but lack the knowledge about the specifics of energies, transducers and gels needed. I'd love to work on this over the winter.....any info on specifics needed?

What would work is a portable MRI machine by realigning the ions you can get a density it my also increase the vascular movement with in the pumpkin

Or maybe we can just be surprised at weighoff time. A simpler option.
