Hi folks.

If anyone is planning on going to the Cooperstown weighoff, they are looking for pumpkins to enter the regatta the following day. As an incentive, they are offering $100 per pumpkin to get more of them in the water. In addition, if you want to paddle the boat yourself in the grower's heat, you'll be eligible for the prize money for the race: 1st: $250, 2nd: $100, 3rd: $50.

Pumpkin boats should (in my experience) be at least 500 pounds, and an appropriate shape.

If you are interested in turning your pumpkin into a boat, please email John Bullis (Cooperstown C of C) at: [email protected]

If you are only planning on staying for the weighoff but would still like to let them use your pumpkin for a boat, I would be more than willing to save the seeds for you.
