What is the current record as to heaviest 'field' pumpkin, c. pepo species? Heaviest here to date, 109 lbs. (2006) grown by Beryle Levy, Hubbards, NS. I believe Ohio growers have the record? Be nice to know for everyone before October weigh-offs. Thanks, Danny

I have seen a 108 lb grown in Ohio and that is the biggest confirmed giant I have seen. Rummors of a 118 lb fruit were never really confirmed. 105 is the largest at an official weighoff site in Ohio.

Sorry for the stupid question. Someone had said to me "looks like you're growing field pumpkins..." What qualifies a pumpkin as "Field Pumpkin"? thanks Kevin
