I'm preparing a new patch for next spring. It is approx. 400 sq.feet. Is that enough area for two plants? Thanks, Andy H.

The recent trend has been toward 600 SF per plant if you can do it.

It depends on how big you want to go. You could get some decent pumpkins off of 200-300sqft. Huge- probably not but nice size. I allocated 450sqft per plant this year. My plants were small in the end like 300sqft and produce 2 well over 600lbs. If your trying for beauty then you could do it if not I would just go with one 450sqft plant.

Thanks for the responses. I'm thinking brawn instead of beauty. I'll plant one in the new patch and keep using the old patch for another. Thanks again.
