So who is bringing there bigones to this weigh-off? Thought i would get a rough estimate. I didn't grow this year so i'm looking forward to seeing big ones at the weigh-offs.

What are 'big' ones? I wouldn't know. There's some guy named Foss that I think is coming, never heard of him before. Or was that Fog? Or Linus? I'm confused (heehee).

Joe had a rough year. Had a fruit on pace for 1200+ up thru day 40 when it stopped stone cold. Ended up coming down with a bad case of pythium that knocked out the whole patch. argh!
If you are a lurking grower with a pumpkin, no matter what the size, bring it on down to the scale. We've got a hell of a show planned for the 12th. And this Fog? guy has a state record to defend.

I plan on being there again, with something a little bigger than last year's 240lber. I'm still working out details on how to get it out of the garden, terrace is going to be a bummer. Will there be a Friday night scale raising again? Potluck Sat? What happened to the previous place? Thanks!

Yes indeed, we'll be asking for assistance from local growers to help set up the friday prior to the event. Details to follow....
And we will continue in our potluck tradition. All growers are encouraged to bring a dish to pass for a group lunch at 12:00.

Okayyyy. I guess at least if I can't bring a pumpkin I can bring pumpkin seeds...ha ha.
I'm expecting a new PB. Expecting at least 1400. Of course I'm expecting the PB this year. Not sure when to expect the 1400 :)

It's the 13th at Lowell Park. NOT the same place. Lowell Park is right on the St. Croix. Downtown Stillwater on the east side of the bridge. Near the Freighthouse, Dock Cafe etc. I think we all hope we still have something by the 13th. It's late. Looking at possibly doing the last weekend of September next year. That will fit better for the guys that want to go to Nekoosa, Stoughton, Stillwater. Or any other combination in the area. It's always hard to make everything work out for everyone. Joe is working like crazy on this new event. Lots of details to iron out.

OK, weighoff is on the NORTH side. East side would be in Wisconsin and if we did that nobody would probably come! So opposite side of the road from the Freighthouse, Dock...etc. It's the marina side of the bridge.

Is there a land mark there, like right next to the superamerica gas station, something like that.

You're welcome at our place, Shannon. Note there is a tentative lifting party planned that eve at my house, your help and expertise would be appreciated, and you'd have to put up with the boys as you know. Fog, you won't miss it, just take 36 east into Stillwater, go thru town and it's on the right, there's a sign.

A good land mark is that it's between the Stillwater bridge and the big marina. If you start going north out of town you went too far. If you are coming from the north and get INTO downtown you went too far. If you are coming from the west and cross the Stillwater bridge you have reached the promise land...once again too far.

Just down the hill, head north. If you run into problems, head for the river and I'll pick you up. Bring minnows.
