Woodchuck problems continue, but have been under control. I've caught 5 this year before they got to the main patch. The hit an area that I grow small gourds, but only small damage to the AG's.
This year was interesting with the woodchuck's. I saw one walking on top of our chain link fence, like a cat, eating the small gourd vines that had grown up the fence. It seems to be a constant struggle.
My largest pumpkin seems to be about 350 pounds. I try to squeeze 2 plants in about 700 sq ft and wonder if that is one of the reasons I can't seem to get past the 500 pound mark. I think next year I am going to chance 1 plant and hope for the best.
Thanks for asking Dave

Change to one plant and try for 2 pumpkins on the plant. See where that takes you. That way you have a back up plan in case one goes down on you.
Good luck!
