We just got back from the Cornerstone Weigh-off (Great job Russ) and I'd just thought I'd give the growing community a heads-up. If you own a 1093 Hunt (1068 Wallace x 842 Eaton) seed, you may want to plant it next year. GVGO members might have gotten one so have a look in your club seed package from last year. I saw two pumpkins grown from that seed and they were BOTH 19% heavy. There's one that tapes out to 1100 + lbs. and one 1200 + lbs. out there too. Hmmmm 1200 lbs. + 19% ? Those that have one in the patch right now may be in for a plesant surprise. So if you have a seed or two you may want to be aware of it's worth.

Oh yeah baby. I've got to get a few of those 1093 seeds. I believe it is the next 898.
Thanks Phil, your judging of the event was great it left me free to do other things. Thanks so much for the help.

I had one of the 1093's at Cornerstone and what a surprise when it went that heavy, not many seeds from that pumpkin out amongst us also. I will be crossing my 744 Chenier with the Calai seed I won in Joel Hollands draw and if it germinates it could be a killer cross,

There are only about 50 seeds from the 1093 out there.
I'll be weighing mine on Friday (Sept. 21). It is currently taping 1130. Check out my diary on Saturday if you are interested in knowing how heavy it went.

There was only 67 seeds in the 1093 pumpkin & most were given out last year. I only have a few left myself.
I'm cheering for you Brad. Hopefully that big brute will go heavy for you. I hope that squash is everything we're hoping it is as well. Good luck next weekend & I'll be eagerly awaiting the results. Go Brad Go.

Thanks Phil. All I can say is the squash is taping quite a bit more than the 1093. Going to be interesting to see which one goes heavier.

Geez Phil....will you grow a pumpkin with more than a handfull of seeds for crying out loud!.....1093, 67 seeds....947....about the same...847, 3 seeds!
These Hunt seeds are fantastic. Phil has an 898 Knauss on the vine, I think pollinated with the 842 Eaton...Yummie! John

We pollinated everything with the 898 Knuass this year. Our crosses will be:
898 x 842 Eaton 842 Eaton x 898 901 Hunt/07 - 1093 Hunt x 898 Knuass @19% heavy 1185 Leonard x 898 Knuass
Hopefully there will be lots of seeds for the 2008 Membership Seed Giveaway. It sickens me to know that there are growers willing to plant our seeds, but we don't have enough seeds to give eveyone a couple. Hopefully this year's seed count will be different.

Congrats to Dutch Brad for setting new records in Europe. The 1093 Hunt seed went heavy once again at 11% over the chart. Good luck to all those that have one going into a weighoff.
