I just wandered thru the World Records list on this site and am wondering if, and when anyone would repeat? There have been 7 new WR's set in the last 7 years, each time by someone different. Will any of these 7 ever hit the record again??? All 7 of these folks are obviously, incredible growers...but can lightning strike twice in the same place??? Any thoughts??? Peace, Wayne

This begginer believes so, it seems like the wallace 1068 (I no by heart) and many other wallace seeds are somehow connected to winning pumpkins. It would'nt suprise me if a wallace pumpkin wins it all again.

I think hes wondering if a current or former World record holder (grower) will once again hold the World record someday? Im guessing yes. Heck Ron Wallace could do it again this yr if the rumors I hear are correct. Ron is a fantastic man, but im praying its Don Youngs turn this year. Dons a great guy and Id like to know it can be done in Iowa!!! Go Don GO!!!!! 350"????? on the 1068?!?!?!?! HUMMM

Hi, The same family has done it twice. Gerry and Larry Checkon. Gerry in 1999 with a 1131 and Larry in 2005 with a 1469. You can see Gerry's world record here: http://bigpumpkins.com/DisplayPhoto.asp?pid=17

If I recall right, only Howard has repeated himself the following year.

The contenders that I know of are some of the best people in existence. Any one of them would be a fine champion. Best wishes to them all.
