How many #'s of Nitrogen in 1 yard of 1 year old composted cow manure? attempting to amend my soil for my new 2008 patch and my nitrogen recommendations are for between 2.8-3.2 lbs. per 1000 sq ft? Any help would be greatly appreciated Bumkin

Nitrogen does not stay around too long but I can give you an idea. Cow manuer is about 12-3-9. One book states 10 pounds of N per ton. Not sure what a yard of manuer weighs but it feels like a ton when shoveling it.

Rob....It's only heavy when it is wet! When dry, it's actually pretty light!
