If I counted right we had 20 new state records and a new world record in 2006. Will we repeat those outstanding numbers in 2007? If so will your state have a new record holder. I know that there are several here in Minnesota that think they are going to beat my 1213. Will we also set a new world record?

Hey Bill, I saw your movie trailer and I would like to see the whole thing. Congrats.

I plan on having a new record here. I wrapped my tape around three times and came up with 1503#. Should I have taken the blankets off first?

Seriously, It looks as if bringing a 1000#er to a weighoff means not much. Who knows what the results will bring this year.

I bet there are a few over 1500lbs this year, also one or two over 1600.

The record is likely to fall in the Netherlands, possibly in Belgium, Sweden and England. Italy also has a new record.

I think it will be the same old unfortunately. Lots of state and world records that don't make the scale. Hopefully a few do make it. If you aren't blowin um you aren't growin um....I heard that somewhere.

Rob it depends on where you are. 1000lb here would make you a pumpkin guru down here..lol

Yeah I really hope someone down in the hot south breaks a 1000 pounds this year. A individual grower not a club or something. I thinks its gonna be tough with all this heat and lack of rain though. A couple weeks to go Ed will see.

Ed, In Rhode Island when you bring a 1000#er they just smile and offer you better seeds.

I hear that there is a 2000 lb pumpkin out there this year and it is still gaining 25 lbs per day...... I love this time of year that rumors rule the land. But I do hear that this year is a big step in increasing the world record weight. Good luck to all as I know that I wont be doing much.

Florida, Kansas, Illinois, and Kentucky have new records already this year. Should be some more that fall.

I've been collecting records before this website was even started.
