Hi, I'm new to this site and I am only a novice. I have been growing pumpkins for a few years, no giants yet but still trying. I recently built an enclosure around my pumpkin plant, plastic and totally enclosed. It's not airtight and I have a fan going and I have applied fungicide. The pumpkin still seems to be growing at a good rate. The internal temperature is 5 to 10 degrees F higher than outside. If I continue with this, can I expect to get a few extra weeks growing or am I wasting my time. Thanks, Andy Hamilton.

expect extra growth, especially when a hard frost would shut the plant down completely and your plant will still be alive and pushing those few extra pounds into the pumpkin. every little bit helps!

Throw some heaters in there..then you would really increase the temp.
