I have two pumpkins left, which are embarassingly small but will be fine for my porch on Halloween. Both seem to have stopped growing. One has a very late stage powdery mildew problem that seems to be on its stem now. Should I harvest them now and keep my fingers crossed? I have to leave for a week and I'm afraid they will start to rot from the mildew while I'm gone? If I harvest now will they even last til end of Oct? Thank you!!

I leave mine plugged into the vine as long as possible....keeps them fresher than picking them and hoping they don't rot.
