A congrats to Mike Parenty a second year grower in the SNGPG. For you growers that attended the patch tour last weekend, Mike's was the last stop on the tour. Unfortunately his 1347 Wallace [crossed with the 1502 Wallace] went down to a split in the rib. The pumpkin was taping 1110, it was cut and weighed with Joe's inline scale today at 1182 lbs. Great job Mike and good luck the rest of the way. Ron, Dick, Joe, Pete
ps the 1502 could be another pb keep her going!!

Good Job Mike. For everyone who did not get to see it, Mike grew his plants in his side and front yards.

theres a lesson in here for all the new to the hobby growers. mike did everything he was taught to do. he put the work into his plants,he asked a lot of question and made frequent trips to pete "la pee pee" rondeau and wallace patches, purchased everything the successfull growers in sngpg use, and stuck with it all season. plus he grew each plant in a fairly confined area.we are all proud of what mike had accomplished. mike would have been a top five grower at two major weigh off sites this fall had he not lost her in a very deep rib as pete mentioned. pap

Nice job Mike, real nice job!
Pap, what about that other grower that took yours and Ron's advice this year and done everything to a T' that he was told to do ? I heard that guy has some real big whoppers going. He said if it wasn't for you guys he would be growing the same size little pumpkins every year. Wonder what his weights are up to now?
