Alex is 16 and tends his plants 100% by his self. He has been around the hobby for a few years and has learned well. We are very proud of him in the SNGPG. Look for Bigger things to come this fall from him.

Wow, Thanks everybody, heard about this a few days ago, n just got on here to see it finally, which I guess must say somthin about how busy this summer's been, but it certainly has paid off. I didn't think at all that I might be the youngest ever to hit it, but I can't think of anybody else after a few minutes. There is one correction I have just so that those who deserve it get their glory: I had the second biggest pumpkin at Marshfield, but it was DMG, blossom split, so Andy Wolf came in second, not me, with his 962 pounder (sorry, if that weight's wrong, I had wisdom teeth out today, n bein on vikaden, I can't rmeember haha).
The pumpkin was grown on Tom Beachy's #9 cross from last year, which was 1173 Macari X 805 Pukos. The plant was close to a month ahead of my others, even though they started on the same day. This fruit weighed 1054 at almost exactly 20% over the EST. When I factor in the 20% over to my growth charts from the season, the 450 at day 30 was actually 540, and peak growth, actually topped out at just about 50 a day. It was only 52 days old when weighed, hadn't grown at all for 2 or 3, and had slowed down drastically 2 weeks before weighing, because it sensed the split getting close to opening up. If it hadn't slowed, it would have been over 1200 pounds probably with extra, by that date, 1350 or more now, and I hesitate to say it, but without too much trouble, 1600 or more by weighoff season. Tom put out a great seed, i'll probably try another next year, because I don't think it will be a career splitter, this was just a puckered in blossom end that couldn't help it. See everybody in 40 days! AleX.
