Hey its Glenn over here in simi valley,, Your looking real nice this yr !! Im rooting for ya ! Im out for this yr- my vines rotted not sure why, But id get more opinions as i can remember a few yrs ago lots of people did lay towels on fruit, But iv talked to some heavy hitter growers last yr & i belive they said they dont do that anymore as they think its not good idea! I forget reason? But i only talked to few & i think some may still, but not sure !! Im sorry im not more help, Im only saying id check more to see what others are doing !!

Hey Glenn!! Thanks for the note...I'm really sorry about your vines rotting..do you have any idea why? Are you not able to cut the rotted part away and still salvage a 'kin for October? Thanks for the heads-up on the calcium towels. I'll try to research some more and see what has been written about the subject. The one Holland pumpkin I have has been a fun ride but I'm really worried about the blossom end giving out because of its shape. I guess time will tell.
