Here in northern New Hampshire low temps have been low 40's and now we're getting a couple nights of upper 30's. Growth is half of what it was a few days ago, down to 10 lbs a day. Is there anything I can do???????

An electric blanket or the blankets off your bed?

fogsurfer, I did not see your reply. My wife thinks I'm crazy as it is. I could just see her face if the bed had no blankets. lol

Blankets at night - sheets during the day.

Grasshoppa I really have to wonder if you are really working hard enough at this hobby if your wife only "thinks" that you are crazy. I believe that you will being trying your best when she "knows" that you are crazy. ;} We are fighting the cold here too. Several nights in the fifties with three in a row in the forties. I am putting I believe it is called egg crate foam that some people put on their mattresses covered by a heavy tarp. good luck KathyT

Kathyt is right. Even better if you have your spouse secretly hoping you'll do well and helps when I really need it most and offers some logical sound advice, which for me is a challenge sometimes.
Blankets and sheets work fine. I have old flannel sheets out there right now and saving the blankets for September when the temps fall on a normal basis. I don't want to spoil those 4 kids out there too much. Heck I talk nice to them just like kids. OK a drink of water, and a blanket then off to bed with ya to stay warm. Then I double check the sheets to make sure they are all covered. Yep certifiable crazy as my hubby has been calling me for years. LOL!

We've been getting temps like that here in Ontario for a while. It sure makes growing a challange. Hopefully it'll warm up soon. They had frost in Northern Ontario already. It's been the coldest summer we've had here in Central Ontario in a long time.
