See the images Dan posted yesterday. 1353 UGLY pounds! LOL I was sorry to see that hole but at least they got it onto a scale for the DMG/EXH entry. That's a lot of weight this early.

Can't find those pics of the 1353. Someone please post a link....hope it was not a pin hole or some other minor flaw....but rules are the rules I guess.

Thanks everyone, was one heck of a contest. Congrats to Julie Young. Pretty new to the sport and how many women can say they are in the 1100 lb club!!! Watching her pumpkin weigh in over 1100 lbs brought tears to her eyes, which almost brought tears to mine..HA Or maybe that was because I thought she had me, I weighed last!!! The long spring and summer of hard work paid off for her and seeing her excitement getting the monster to the scale was what this all to often heart ache is all about. For those who dont know, she wouldn't let Don near her plant or pumpkin all season... SHE .... did this all on her own. Well I think maybe Don sprayed the bug sprays but from what I know, thats about it!!! YEEE HAAAA keep Don away and look what you get Julie..... HOOO HOOOO. Im so proud of you girl!!!!!!!

Hey Don, looks like you don't have to look around the state for competition anymore? You just have to glance across the patch. lol

There is alot of extra work needed to get pumpkins that big this early in the season, keeping the plant from freezing that early in the season would be in chore in itself. My hats off to you guys.
