Hey there Mark Baggs or any UK grower or anyone that might know. What was the circumference and length of the 2005 WR marrow, please? Thanks Spudley.

I have a picture of it, but that's all. I contacted Mark by email some time ago but he didn't reply. If you need the picture, let me know.

Thanks Brad. I've seen some photos and I read somewhere that it was 50 inches around by 50 inches long. I was just trying to confirm that. I have a marrow on the vine that's just over 52 inches around but only 34 inches long. There isn't much of a tapper to it. Wide but squatty. It's still growing but not that rapid growth you get when they're young. It should easily go over 100 pounds but how much over, I don't know??? Later Spudley.

I just harvested mine which was only 44 lbs. (We had pretty poor weather.)

The measurements were:

length 23.5"
length from ground to ground 39"
circ. parallel to ground 63.5"
circ. thickest part 30.5"

Hey guys, the W.R marrow we grew in 2005 measurements were 42 inches long and it had a girth of 54 inches at the thickest part. we also had a 116lb marrow grown on the same plant! Then in 2006 we grew a marrow est at 120lb which split before the show. We didnt grow any marrows this year as we have gone in to the pumpkin growing more now. Sorry i didnt get your e mail brad, being a farmer im not in to this computer thing lol.

Thanks Mark. The marrow I'm growing looks to be a personnel best and that's all a guy can ask for, eh. Sounds like you guys have the marrow growing formula down. Great job. Later Spudley.

No problem Mark :). I didn't know you could blow a marrow too. All I know is they are a hoot to grow and you don't have to wait a whole season for them to mature.
