As many of you know, 3 fruit on my plant. biggest one is 59" around and smallest one about 52" around.
all 3 have slowed down growing alot. maybe 1/2" growth each per day.
is it worth culling the 52" fruit to maybe get the 2 bigger ones to grow again, or is it too late?
thanks.

I had to cull a 50+ inch fruit on a plant a few weeks ago because of animal damage. The second fruit was about 20" at the time. Now it's over 300# and doing close to 30# a day.

Good question Jeremy and unfortunetly as a new grower Id also like to know. I had two pumpkins on one of my plants and waited to late I think. I decided to cull one of them and hopefully this pushes a little more energy to the remaing one. Culling a 250 pound plus pumpkin was tough but Im growing for size so its one per plant for me. Good Luck

What are your goals? - Will you want many pumpkins to display in October? Or, would you rather have a pumpkin you can say is the best you could grow at your personal experience level?

Pick one to keep and cull the rest before you lose all growth gains. Just make sure you don't whack them off all at once. Cut about a third of the way through the stems of the culls each day until you get them off.
