I have what looks like a bug hole in my pumpkin it's humped up with a black mark in the middle is there any thing I can do to save it

ok the pumpkin is about 350 I just looked at it this morning, looks about an inch long half started healing over but the other half is almost 1/4 inch deep an an seeping a little the pumpkin is still solid all around it ***Thanks ****
