"Mom! Are those big red bugs good for your pumpkins?" "What red bugs?!?" "The red ones" "Tell me...exactly...what did they look like? How many of them were there? Where did you see them?" "Umm, over there" *points in a general direction* "TELL ME CHILD!" *shaking 10 year old by the shoulders* "What did you see and where did you see it? I have to move on this NOW!" "There was a really big red and black flying bug. It had little points by its butt. Can we name it 'Spike'?" "AAAAAAAHHHHHH!" *Mom runs out of the house screaming with a fly swatter in one hand, and bug spray in the other*
That is how my afternoon went. How was yours? I thought SVB season was almost over! Now I am on the defensive-checking vines and leaves constantly. I hope all the prep I did for an SVB attack pays off. Die bugs, die!

My afternoon is getting smacked by severe rain storms with hail and tornado warnings.
I'd take the SVB right now lol. Good luck.

After the swarm of hundreds - yes HUNDREDS - last year.... I'll take the rain storms!
Hope your plants are filled up with a systemic pesticide! I the first handful of breeding pairs of SVB around 6 weeks ago.. Not a single one since (the offspring should've hatched and swarmed in early July..) - no vine SVB damage noticed... They do die, I tell you - they DO!!!!

Its strange your still getting svbs. Mine already came and did the damage. Now the grubs are leaving whats left of the plants and burrowing in the soil for next year.
