I just bought 500 tablets of 600 milligram Calcium tablets with vitamin D added (400 iu) per tablet. It is calcium carbonate. The suggested doseage for a woman of average wieght is 2 tablets per day. Lets assume 2 tablets eqaul the doesage for 140 pounds. It dissolves completly in thirty minutes in a glass of water. What do you think about dissolving about 20 or thirty of these and foliar applying in a couple gallons of water over 800 square feet, and maybe doing the same for a soil drench. Would it work? This strikes me as extremely available calcium for the plants. Is there a risk? Does the vitimin D change the risk?

Seems like an expensive option...Lime is calcium carbonate...I can get 50lbs for $2.49..Or really go cheap and have a ton delivered. Chilated Calcium or Calcium Chloride is a better option for a foliar.

Vancouver, I believe the calcium needs to be chelated in order to be taken in by the leaves. Otherwise the molecule won't pass through the stomata in the leaf surface. You are probably wasting the product by trying it that way.

Vancouver, I would ask you what you've been smoking but I'm always thinking out of the box too!! I wouldn't mess with the calcium tablets... Theres better discoveries to be made in the pumpkin growing world (IMHO)... Good luck and let us know when you've figured it out :-/

Consume it yourself - then go purchase some lime and/or foliar Ca supplement......
