P & P Seed Co is offering a special gift for any tarp or lifter order placed online before Aug 25. Be sure to select "Free Gift" at checkout. www.bigseeds.com "Supplies Section". The same great quality "Amish" made tarps we've been supplying to giant pumpkin growers for over 22 years! Many are still in service. Who has the oldest one? Let's hear what year you got your first tarp! Best of luck for a great harvest season! Ray

I agree with Gary and Wiz. Beer (after) and lots of neighbors. If one has a forklift or bucket, even better. Scrunch the tarp up like an accordian and place it on one side of the pumpkin. Lift that side and slide the tarp under. Lift the other side and retreive the tarp. Center it and lift. By that time a bunch of drunks can step all over the leaves and vines that are left. If possible lift it onto a soft foam covered palate.

The PGPGA has updated thier lifting ring page with a small raise in price but the same quality product used at over 80 percent of all GPC sites. 159.00 including shipping and handling for a lifting ring is quite a deal and a heck of a lot easier to use than tarps! Stop by at PGPGA.com and click on lifting rings/.

We list it as 1,200 - 1,600 lbs. I'm still thinking of gifting the grower with the first 2,000 lber. with a 8 X 8 tarp! Thanks for the order and best of luck to all! /Ray

The ring comes with the straps, there is a picture on the webpage at pgpga.com if you go click on the lifter page. If you ask around, you will find this pumpkin lifting ring/straps is used by more than any other on the market. There is an email address there to click to arrange the purchase, best of luck!

Rock,

Not so sure you need a ring! We sell a mess of straps and growers use a simple tractor clevis to gather the straps at the top. If you have a pumpkin that is in poor condition I would suggest a ring or maybe a stretcher! More important to have your straps evenly spaced and lift slow and easy, I'd say. We sell the straps (8) and a gathering strap (at the bottom) for $59.95 plus S&H then you can do what you want. Our straps are a full 2 inches wide and made from seatbelt material at 6,000 lb test - not 1 inch polypropylene! I made my own ring - you can loop the straps onto anything that suits you./Ray

P.S. you get a nice gift with each order placed online.
