I just noticed one of my pumpkins on the 1250 kline is ozzing sap. What do I do, the pumpkin is bigger than a softball at day 4. Will this heal or should I cull it? It is my best grower.

At only day 4 I'd wait it out.

a baseball size fruit at day four is very very promising fruit. quite large for day four
its sapping because its growing fast. sometimes you get sap bubbles on the side of a small good fast grower

Captn,
That 1250 Kline is a very nice grower, I am really liking my plant too, like Paps, I have seen what looks to be beads of saps or sweat as the Pumpkins really start to take off.....I think the pumpkins sweat to grow as much as we sweat to grow them....lol

I am not so impressed with the plant so much as the pumpkin on my 1250. The plant has rather thin vines and not so tall leaves. The pumpkin is high and round and already showing promise of orange. It easily passed the 20 day benchmark at 72 inches in circ.

I have decided on waiting to cull the one with stem crack on advice from pap. it's not that bad and its doing well for such a young pumpkin.

My 792 Kline was a good grower until it went down to a blossom end split last night. It was the largest in my patch to this point, 450ish. The 792 is the reverse of the 1250, the 670 that grew the 1250 was its daddy.
