I pump pond water into 4 55 gallon barrels and its slightly filtered. The drip system only hits the stumps of the plants. I really got to soak the whole patch though. Do you think pond water on the leaves will result in more disease. I do spray the whole patch weekly with Ortho garden and disese control though. Thanks

anytime you use pond water you run the risk introducing disease into your patch
we used to use an ultra violet system to help kill bacteria
the water passes through the system just before pumpkin onto patch- mixed reviews as to its effectiveness
we have also aireated out pond with a fountain that recirculates water through a old swimming pool pump and filter - mixed reviews as to this system as well
basicly if your pond goes stagnent during dry spells you are inviting trouble any which way you use this water
if on the other hand the pond is spring fed and has some flows in and out of the pond then you may be ok

There was a New Hampshire grower that once watered his patch out of a pond. No longer. Wiped out his patch!
