Slice and quarter then salt, pepper, flour and a little corn meal. Tried it last year. Now I am having trouble keeping one on the vine long enough to grow..FRIED PUMPKIN gotta try it.

We took a cull of mine that was estimated 250lbs (stopped growing for whatever reason) and put it in the passenger seat of one of my buddies pick-up trucks. The look on his face when he opened the door was PRICELESS!!!

gobblebug, that sounds too much like cannibalism to me. You might make the pumpkin gods angry.

I really got to start putting them in my compost pit. I have them thrown everywhere some as big as a 100 pounds. I figure maybe the critters will munch on them instead of my keepers.

I compost some of them, but most of them I see how far I can shot-put them into my field, I like to see them explode when they hit the ground.

Hang on there....The ones I eat are only 5-10 lbs or so. My biggest is only 192 lbs. I couldn't imagine frying a 300 pounder....
