I was just out checking the Ailts patch this AM as he's on vacation. The field pumpers are absolutely miserable. I didn't see a single pumpkin in 2 acres. It's not a pretty site anywhere around here. I feel sorry for the farmers. And we have much more moisture here this year than last!

Not me. Hand watering no longer works, it just runs off the concrete like ground and doesn't absorb. Chance Weds eve?

Rain is much needed here as well. This year and last have been very dry here. Lakes and rivers are low.

If you want to see drought look at CA. The foothills are so dry it looks like the end of Sept. High fire danger. The farmers in the central valley irrigate but thieves are stealing the copper wire and now pumps are disabled. No elec. no water no crops.

Nah, look in the south/mid-south... 95% of TN is in extreme/exceptional drought conditions... As a livestock owner - I'm faced with ALL of my local hay supplier/producers only harvesting 30% of normal on 1st-2nd cuttings.. looks like no 3rd-4th cuttings... I'm facing the fact that instead of getting $30 hay rolls - I may have to ship in semi-loads of rolls from Arkansas/KY - at $90 per roll!
Currently, my county is over 12" under yearly precip. average.
