Ques, when you lose the blossom end of Pumpkin , is it done.

Frank you talking about the stub ? or the pumpkin ?...pumpkin may be done if its the pumpkin or atleast from counting at weighoffs , you can calk it up and see how big you can get it , but if it is just the blossum stub , i grew one few years back without the stub on it and it was ok . it greatly increases the chance of splitting tho , i am told .

Not sure, did the stub start rotting away? That happened a few years ago on my 1231 and Andy's 1407. Regardless, as long as it has not proceeded into the cavity area, the fruit should be fine. I would spray some fungicide and perhaps calcium on that area and make sure it’s kept dry.

Well Frank....we'll see what happens together. I knocked the end off one of mine two weeks ago. So far...so good. The end usually falls off by its self in late August.

i lost the nub 2x was able keep the fruits..i use sulfur and keeped a fan on it only during the day kept it cover at night so no night dew landed on it...

frank, dilute bleach spray and a fan 24/7 may be all you need. dry it out! Peter

once the fruit is pollinated and the pumpkin is set and growing if the blossom breaks off it usually is not a problem im not talking about a big bone looking elongation with the blossom attached im talking about a small blossom stub about the size of a small cork
