Hi all,
I have a pumpkin that has about a 45-50 degree downward angle from blossom to stem. I can feel the stem when I reach under the "leading edge" of the pumpkin. It feels fine. I can't visualize the vine, but it is not wanting to lift at all. My smaller pumpkins on other plants are, so I've seen that happen before. I don't THINK it's squashing the vine-pun intended :)
The pumpkin is growing well.(about 50# every 5 days for the last 15 days per the chart I'm using)
My gut feeling is it may be great position, but I may be hoping this because there's not a thing I can do with it at this point.
Don't know if this helps, but here's a link to a pic. Anyone have any experience or thoughts with this situation? http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v58/hound46/?action=view¤t=723pics004.jpg

forgot to mention...
the pic was taken on July 23rd. The angle seems to stay consistent. It looks quite a bit bigger today!!

as you say, it is what it is, but you can dig a bit so the stem doesnt hit dirt and break

I'll remember that if it starts to need some relief. It seems to be hovering in the same position and not putting any pressure anywhere. Kind of growing out and up.
