Could not get one to set on the main. Have 2 set on side vines but one is on the first side vine and the other is on the 3rd and growing ok but not in position yet so it may be fun to get it there.

Vic,
Mine is growing very nice, medium height, consistent. My first on the main aborted but I have another at 14 feet and its growing nicely at about day 10. This is one of my favorite plants, Ill find a pic and post in the diary.

the plant itself looks real good but have also had problems getting one set on main. the first one looked like it was aborting at about 20lbs. so i cut it off. #2 and 3 aborted #4 might make it but not sure so i pollinated #5 the other day. also all fruit have been of a more long or football shape.

I have one growing on the 1174 and to date the plant has been easy to work with and has a thick heavy vine with good sized leaves. I have a set on the main around 14 feet. I have been away from the patch for a week but plan on going there in the morning. I will post a picture in my diary tomorrow. It looks to me like the 1174 is going to throw a pumpkin with a nice orange shade as well.

1174 is a very vigorous plant here. Had some problems setting a fruit too.All females on main were very short stemmed and vey poor angle to the vine. One had a little better angle, but deformed lobes >seeds in blossom. Finally i decided to set one at 16ft. out and terminated the main after the fruit.Fast growing, nice looking wheel :

My 1174 caused me a lot of troubles, very short stemed almost no stem at all and seeds in blossom end at 80% of the fruits and deformed lobes on most of them.
i have two pumpkins set a couple of days ago so i cant say anything about the shape on them yet.But i will never grow it again for sure.
