I have a pumpkin that got hit by hail just after pollination. It has a scar and the lobe beneath it isn't growing as fast as the other lobes. Does a pumpkin with an early scar have a higher chance of splitting, or does it make a difference? It's now at 50 pounds and I have a second pumpkin 6 feet further out that's just starting to swell. Is the bigger one a keeper, or should I go for the smaller unblemished pumpkin?

Personally Id go with the pumkin thats 6 feet further. I wouldnt cull the pumpkin with a scar yet Id wait until you were sure the one 6 feet out is definetly set.
