6 out of my 8 plants have a good sized fruit set and are growing at a good rate as of now, the only problem is, when the fruits set it seemed the plants quit producing any secondiaries, now what should look like a christmas tree pattern really looks like a giant hunting arrow..I dont think the plants are going to be big enough to feed my fruit properly, is there anything I can do to get more secondairies or should I just feed them twice as much??thanks!!

Maybe hit the Nitrogen, or just sit back and be glad you don't have a disease that's wiping you off the face of the patch. Good luck! My plants don't have the room to get very big so I'm pushing with ferts and watching.

Sounds like the energy is going to the right place, the fruit. The only bad side is the plant may not be big enough but the fruit is still growing at a good rate so I would not worry too much. I agree, not one of the worst problems you can have. Want some deer and rabbits? Or can I borrow a fox or wolf for a few weeks. They trapped the fischer cat so he is now in another town eating their rabbits.

Ditto your description - good growing pumpkin at 17', no 2ndry's after the pumpkin (ie. a giant arrow). A couple of days after this pic I termed the main - it was at the end of the patch. Last week, I applied 4-.5-.5 and fish foliar and drench. Now, some of the vines after the fruit are ~1ft long and growing slow. Still no 2ndry's within 6ft of the tip of the main though. What I plan to do is term the 2ndry's before the fruit at 14' and let the secondaries after the fruit grow to 4-8' and term. I have 2 'late' pumpkins on the main that started this week but those are just 'in case' the one at 17' aborts.
Can you keep in touch?
Thanks,
Greg
