This is my first year growing giant pumpkins (or any pumpkins for that matter!). My biggest one is starting to go from yellow to orange already. Is this normal or do they only go orange when they are done growing? I have it under a shade tarp so I don't think it is from the sun. Thanks for the help.

Sometimes its just the pumpkins genetics..some end up a cream color and others a dark orange.
