hoots dirt (Mark)

Farmville, Virginia ([email protected])

The days here have dropped down to about 80-84 degrees and the nights are lows 50's to 60. I was getting 20lbs 15 or so pounds per day and now am down to around 6lbs. Hope the weather warms and growth picks up. If the temps warm back up will I see much improved growth or does this slow them down for good?

Weather is the exact same here. I have yet to go higher than 15lbs in a day, but was maintaining roughly 10 lbs a day. I has started to decline and the last 24hrs period was the worst of the year. Only 4.4 lbs. I upped the fertilizer and water to see if that makes a diff. Also, I am covering with blankets all day/night to keep warmer.

Most vines after the fruit are not rooted, but all the roots before it are. Does anyone think this could be a big problem. I am burying the rest on Wed.

Will most tap roots reform if a vine is buried? I think they will if covered/damp, but looking for a second opinion.

Thanks

Dealing with the same 'ish here. doing between 2 and 3" a day . To hit bench marks i think it should be going at least 4" per day. I've up'ed the ferts and water too, hopefully next week will bring a little more warmth:)

JRO, covering them with blankets during the day may be keeping them cooler during the day, not warmer, by acting as an insulator keeping the warmth outside of the fruit.

It's been very cool here in Central Ontario. Night time temps range from 44 F to 58 F. It would be really nice to get a night that is over 60 F. Plants are two weeks behind most other growers. Hopefully we'll have a warm Sept. Good luck all.
