My pumpkins are about basketball size. I have terminated as many secondaries as I can find trying to push the energy to the fruit. Should I keep the mains going? rabbits keep eating the leaves and I cannot shoot them. Also, what about ferts. I was using chicken manuer based organics at 5-5-5 ish. Now I found a non-organic 5-10-10. Should I be going higher? I also have been watering with fish, seaweed, Agro-K calcium and Micronutrients once a week or two.

Choose the ones (or one)you want to go with, cull the others slowly over a couple of days. Shade your pumpkin, keep up your regimine of ferts, enjoy the ride....Later on your Agro-K will adjust the ferts if you are on their schedule....with more potassium.....and less nitrogen.....

Thanks! Dwaine Gipe sent me a schedule one time. I am a little scared of the 0-0-50. It will cause early maturity in some cases and blowups others.

T-shirt will be fine for about 20 days, then it will be too small, only needs to be on when the sun is out

Rob,

Miller's Hot Sauce works great on rabbits. We haven't applied it to the fruit yet but rather leaves, chicken wire, & the "critter sticks" we've surrounded the fruit with. I can't say for sure the rabbits would mess with the fruit but why take chances?

5-5-5, 20-20-20, doesn't matter. Only the RATE & FREQUENCY matter. No binges & no fasts. Just a nice low constant steady supply.

Higher potash is later(early September) but again the rate is the key. Too much & the fruit will harden off too early or blow up.
