I think it is fun seeing what people ar using to gauge their pumpkins in their pictures. I am using a Mountain Dew can....now I don't know if the pumpkins prefer beer or soda. If they do prefer beer. Would they rather have their picture taken with a lite beer, or something a little heavier? Same thing with soda....diet or regular? I mean if pap used Duff beer, would other growers start touse Duff bear to increase their chances of growing a monster?

Beer has been a proven method for going heavy. Pumpkin and the grower!

for a real perspective we place a beer keg ( empty of course ) aside the babies and go from there.

once the pumpkin is taller than the keg we start measuring

Budweiser would yank my funding if I didn't use one of their cans.

I have been using pop cans for the last 3 yrs. and had very little luck.... SO next yr I am using beer cans or bottles. Come to think of it I have an old keg laying around.

I think you'll find this works better if you first DRINK the beer then deliver the goods to the soil. THEN you can pose the empty bottle with the pumper.

To all things a purpose.

Hey Fogsurfer, there is a wheat beer called blue moon. In the fall every year they have a pumpkin wheat. Its very tasty. Here is a pdf from coors about it:

Thanks, but I was being sarcastic, I go to the pose a can with your pumpkin section of the store, hey canadian, my name which is actually brouillard-means foggy, misty, drizzley & haze in french, my relatives left france in 1645 for montreal, we then worked our way down into wisconsin, minnesota & louisiana, neat eh. being from Mn I thought maybe a ice cube/block would be more appropriate to use in Mn.

A Miller lite can. Actually 4 Miller Lite cans. Budweiser makes a pumpkin spice beer.....sold it in the bar where I work, everyone hated it, of course I ordered it just because it said pumpkin. Couldn't give the stuff away.

I don't know what the big debate is. Everyone knows that giant pumpkins prefer Leinenkugel's beer.

I saw someone use a gallon milk jug in their diary. Something different....I like it. Maybe if I can find some toy cola cans(maybe for Barbie dolls), my pumpkins will look awesome.

My pumpkins are going slow, I'm going to use a thimble next to mine if I ever put a picture of them on the diary pages. I had 6 last night, not used to drinking that much, must be hung over. I used to drink lienie's all the time.

Maybe we can use the OTT measurements to measure tavern tumors as well. Good way to monitor and manage beer intake of growers.

That is cool. My grandmother came from Quebec.

Brigitte, no offence intended, but I recently tried leinenkugels wheat, and its way to fruit flavoured. Not a good beer, but I have never tried any of their other beers, so I cant judge the rest.

Now Guiness, I must agree, is brilliant. That is a great beer. Could (sometimes do) drink all night long.
