Seeing as pumpkins put most of their weight on at night, is it handy to have as much light as possible during the night or not?
In the Netherlands it stays light till about 11 pm during the month of June and is light again at about 5 am. Is this better than a night from, say, 9 till 6?

What about this, during the days soil start to warm up. By evening and nights soil is warm enough that roots can take as much water and nutrients the need.after sun has raised it takes several hours to warm the soil up.

Lets say you measured 6 am and 6 pm... When measuring 6 pm there has been sunlight say ten hours, but it takes long that soil is warming deeper also. Now, lets measure 6 am...after 6 pm about 4 to 6(yes in Finland) sunlight. but after sun goes down soil is still warm and it takes lot of time that deeper soil cool down. Is there any point...

your pumpkin plant is a lot like a humans digestive system
you take it in during the day time and release it at night
