How big a diffrence is there between covering up the pumpkin at night and not? If u got a shade/rain cover up..( here its more rain this year, lol) is there a need for a blanket then?. And has anybody ever measured a diffrence?

the reason for the blanket on cool nights is to help keep the fruit at an even temp. by doing so the fruit its hoped will get less slow growth hrs due to cool off then warm up periods. i truely believe it also helps iffy blossoms from splitting due to a cold pumpkin trying to expand when the daily warm up is at hand pap
