after a few days of good weather i got an explosion of third growth..how many of these should i take of..and wil it slow down pumpkin growth..? or should i leave some on, to make up for lost leafs??

Cook I've had hail damage in the past lost like a third of the leaves and in 3 week after letting the extra grow fill in the damaged areas you wouldn't have know. If leaves produce energy then I'd say let them fill in the blank spots. But be carefull not to over croud, then your asking for bug and fungail problems..The more leaves the less sun light that hits the ground the easier weeding will be...mark

They are sinks while actively growing so don't allow too many. Regenrated growth when required is good thing as Marc states.
