At what stage do you prune off all the smaller females and leave 1 or 2 females on for good?

i have probably 12 females on my plant altogether with 4-5 of them maybe 6" around. still small but was wondering when to take most of them off.

How many pumpkins do you have going on your main vine? How many on secondaries?

once the get beachball size they are pretty sure not to abort, so when you get to that point try to pick one/two on your main vine, at least 10' away from the stump

i have 2 on my main vine now, at about 15' and 18' out from stump.

on secondaries, i would say i have about 8-10 females.

roughly how big is a beachball......??

Cut the pumpkins on the secondary vines before they ever even open. You do not want them. The sooner they are gone the more energy to the main vine fruit. Those are the ones that you will ultimatly narrow down to one fruit.

since i only have 1 plant, i plan on leaving more then 1 female on this plant altogether.

i have 7 on as of this morning, 2 on maina nd 5 on different secondary vines.

i will probably leave 1 on the main and 1-2 on secondarys.

this is my first year so i dont plan on trying to reach a world record. i would just love to have a pumpkin 100 pounds and a couple other ones.
