What do ya'll think of my larger/older 'kins...
#1 - at 10 days was 33x18.5x23... at 18 days is 58x32x39 #2 - Sibbed at 11 days was 36x25x20 - at 19 days is 74x39x49..Second 'kin on this 800 sq/ft plant is: 326 Rahe cross was 18cc at 5 days - now is 40x18x25 at 13 days.
#3 - 326 Rahe cross was 32x20x23 at 10 days - at 19 days is 64x36x46. Second 'kin on the plant is 20cc (Valencia cross) at 8 days.

id tell you my tend day but we dont do any. i wait and get the tape out once they are 100 or so inches in circ.
once you have chosen your fruit no need to mess with a tape until theres something big enough to tape.
large early measurements are determined by to many situations with each plant so there fore your 10 day for example and mine (if i had a couple on the main before it ) will be very different than a first pollination keeper. etc-etc-
to many people get to excited and or concerned with early measurements. once you have been at it a few years you will come to realize that its the finish that counts not the start.

I think you hit the nail on the head for many of us. I am not sure what you mean by chit eatin, but I am always smilin and my wife can attest to the beer drinkin and certainly the farting. LOL.

Although... measuring early is kinda like getting excited when your 'under par' on the front nine. For some of us, that's all we got (me included;) Personaly I think it's therapeautic to measue day 10, day 11 etc. The daily hi's and low is what makes this game fun. A 1000 pound lunker would be nice, but beating last years day 15 when you may never see 130" is very rewarding too. Anyway, to each his own and happy growing:)

Looks like I'll be beating my all-time largest cc in the morning.... The biggun' gained 11"cc in just 3 days - it's just 22 days and 85"cc....
My largest to date was 86cc - and that was past the 45 day mark!
This plant's taken it's fate in it's own hands (I had PLANNED to get at least 3-5 'kins of different crosses off this monstor plant!) It's cutting off nutrient flow to the other developing 'kins and aborting them......
Not bad for a scientist that only wanted to get a bunch of 'kins to seed maturity... Not planning for anything truly GIANT (as compared to you heavy hitters...)
He, he, he.... Call it 'accidental luck'...
