There has been a lot of talk about growth benchmarks on this site. I am wondering about how to measure the CC on a very young pumpkin. On the blossum end the lobes stick out quite a bit. I assume that you do not include the the lobes in this measurement?? This could certainly add a good deal to the measurement if you did include it. thanks KathyT

Early on, I just measure the circumference. Really though, you dont have to measure until the 10th day. If you are at 20-30 by day 10 (should be) then from then on, all three OTT measurements should be easy enough to obtain.

Take 3 measurements, and use the biggest.

Early on, I measure circ. by going over the stem and under the blossom end.

Regardless of measuring circ, end to end, or side to side always measure the largest part of the pumpkin. Like Mike said, don't include the blossom.

Lol Al, I think that you might go under the charts with that measurement! Thanks all for answering my question, Kathy
