I am in a 3 way competition this year, to see who can grow the big one. This is our first year, and we're having a blast with it, doing terrible, and learning a lot. We've already got 6 more poor folks signing up for next year.
Any of you guys have any good suggestions for a prize at the end of it all? So far all we've got it a goofy hat embriodered with names and such. Reach down deep, I'm looking for something good....

take one of the small pumpkins ( say at about 5 days old) pick it and have it bronzed. Pass this around each year to the person who has the biggest pumpkin.

Bronze pumpkins huh? Great idea. Here's a twist on it.
Take that cull, cut it in half & scrape out the middle. Bronze the halves as ghopson suggests. Make a bra out of it.
Loser wears the bronze pumpkin bra & a tertiary vine grass skit & marches down Main Street in Bellingham WA at rush hour.

A bottle of fish emulsion winner gets served beer all night long while siiting in front of his prize winning pumpkin, might as well have a fire also.

I did this a few years back we all put in 10 bucks and bought a trophy..winner had his name engraved...We did a big bbq with everyone involved "pumpkin day" weighed in front of everyone and had a shirt made....It was alot of fun...the cash was small enough it didnt hurt paying the bills....lots o fun

Some great ideas. Think my favorite so far is the bronzed culled pumpkin. Maybe we'll put that on top of the trophy, and pass it around each year.
The bra is good too, but keep in mind this is Bellingham. Nobody would even notice.
