With all this rain and more potentially coming I usually start my seeds on the 25th of April. This year I will wait longer maybe even until May 5th. You dont want seedlings sitting to long in pots usually no longer than 2.5 weeks and with wet soil I feel better about waiting and being patient.Good luck in 2000 Matt.

Plenty of rain in Connecticut. Two to three inches this weekend alone. We will be wishing for it in July...

Rain, rain, go away (but come back in moderate amounts this summer) Seriously, I have 4 seedlings I started, they are still at the seed leaf stage and I was wondering when I should cut the bottom heat back, it is at 85 degrees. I think the worst of the rain is over in central PA so I can plant when they're ready.

Cut the bottom heat now. I only use bottom heat to get the seed to germinate. After that too much heat can damage the root system.

Yes, it has been raining here a lot too. Is too much water a big problem?
