What is a better situation?
Pumpkin that seems to be doing very well on the secondary.
-or-
Much younger pumpkin almost 20ft out on primary, with a small scratch.

The main vine set if the scratch heals. You'll know soon if it heals.
Secondary vine sets always seem to start quicker but they don't keep up in the long run.
Can you wait a week to decide? When & how bad was the scratch? When were the pollination dates?

I have the same problem, it's time to start making punkin. Have a mint fruit solid and round as can be on a main secondary which is not in a great location, and then I have a fruit on the main vine about 13' out that is not as round and close behind. Becoming hard to choose but not a lot of clock left to waste.

If your trying to get the biggest possably pumpkin than its gonna be one on main ! But if you want to increase chances of having pumpkin at end of season & it doesent have to be biggest possably, than bolth of them.
